“... What...?”
Phan Tone

Phan Tone is a musical and ghostly-themed superhero who is a member of The Justice Friends.

Appearance[]

Phan Tone appears to have yellow skin and red eyes with no pupils, however this may only be a mask. He wears a gray cowl, gray bodysuit with a purple sound note on the chest, a green glove on his right hand, an orange glove on his left hand, a blue boot on his right foot, a red boot on his left foot, and a white cape.

Personality[]

Phan Tone is never heard speaking or doing much of anything for that matter, with his only existing piece of dialogue being a brief "What...?" in "Dial M for Monkey: Rasslor". Usually only appearing briefly to fight for a brief moment or getting defeated just as quickly. What little is known about him is that he seems to like watermelon and gets along well with Miss Spell and both even participated in a potato sack race together. He also seems to be a bit over-dramatic, as he had the most horrified and pained expression when the Silver Spooner stole the ketchup.

Abilities[]

Phan Tone's abilities are never fully shown due to his very few brief appearances, as such, his only known abilities are flight and intangibility. Although considering his name and introduction, he may have some sort of music or sound-based abilities. The fact that he was one of the few heroes summoned by Rasslor to represent his planet shows that he is one of the most powerful heroes on Earth.

Superpowers[]

  • Intangibility - Being a ghostly entity, Phan Tone can make his body transparent at will and phase through people and objects, as seen when he tried to remove Krunk's aching tooth. He can even appear and disappear at will. However he can still be harmed and grabbed by physically stronger opponents like Rasslor.
  • Flight: Phan Tone has shown the ability to fly and can even travel into space.

Trivia[]

  • Phan Tone is a portmanteau-word pun on "phantom," a ghost or apparition, "tone", a musical sound's pitch and quality (as well as color harmony), and "Pantone, Inc.," a company known for its Pantone Matching System (PMS), a proprietary color space used in a variety of industries, primarily printing, though sometimes in the manufacture of colored paint, fabric, and plastics.
  • Phan Tone is likely a reference to DC's Deadman, DC's Martian Manhunter and Marvel's the Vision, having the intangibility of all three heroes, the ghostly status of Deadman and a similar design to Vision. His closeness to Miss Spell is also a referece to Vision, who was once married to Scarlet Witch, the inspiration for Spell.
