Quiet Riot is the first segment of the thirty-first episode in season 2 of Dexter's Laboratory. It first aired on March 11, 1998.

In this episode, Dexter pulls an all-nighter working on his latest invention in his laboratory. When it is 6 AM, he decides to call it a day and goes to bed. Dee Dee pledges to make sure that nothing will disturb Dexter as he sleeps peacefully, but her plans to keep things quiet end up causing more harm than good.

Plot[]

At 1 AM, Dexter works on his inventions well into 6 AM. With his invention completed, Dexter leaves his laboratory and goes to bed for the day. As he gets off to sleep, Dexter notices that his room door is cracked and goes to close it. Just after getting into bed, Dee Dee appears in Dexter's bed and scares him out of it. When Dee Dee asks, Dexter tells her that his agenda for the day is sleeping as he had been up all night working on his invention while Dee Dee slept the night away. Dee Dee wishes Dexter a peaceful sleep and promises to keep things quiet for him.

She tries to sneak out of Dexter's room, with the floor creaking at every step she takes. After stepping onto an inflatable Puppet Pal Clem toy, Dee Dee unsuccessfully tries to step off it. Irritated, Dexter orders Dee Dee to leave his room and she does. Mom then calls to Dexter and Dee Dee that it's time for breakfast, though the latter tells her that Dexter is trying to sleep. Afterwards, Dee Dee shouts what she wants for breakfast to Mom from outside Dexter's door. She then goes to check on Dexter, who is awake in bed annoyed.

As Dexter sleeps, a fly lands on his nose. Dee Dee pops up from the side of the bed and hits both Dexter and the fly with the flyswatter. Much later, Dee Dee hears several birds chirping and she tells them that Dexter is trying to sleep. Dee Dee then shoots the birds with a gun, causing Dexter to wake up shaking in fear.

Dee Dee, stricken with guilt, tries to tell Dexter about a button she pushed that activated a bomb, only for him to tell her to leave him alone. Dexter doesn't believe her, but he is awakened as the bomb's blast sends him into a wall. Fed up with Dee Dee's counterproductive methods of helping him sleep, Dexter gets his pillow and goes somewhere else to sleep where Dee Dee won't bother him.

At night, as Dee Dee gets into bed from helping Dexter out all day, she hears loud snoring and thinks there is a monster under her bed. She reaches over the side and sees Dexter, who is snoring loudly on her bedroom floor. Dee Dee shakes in fear as Dexter snores.
